“ I want to spread the word about blues . Blues has faded out in America in recent times and I want to put it up front and as wide spread as possible. A lot of people still do not know the music of Muddy Waters, Freddy King , Albert King, or Doyle Bramhall Sr. I want to be a blues torch ,not only for my own music but for the greats that came before me. Turning people on to the blues is one of the great joys of being a musician. Spreading the blues one fan at a time”.
Granvil Poynter
A composer, arranger and bluesman Granvil 's early influences were Eric Clapton and SRV, who led him to originals like Muddy Waters, Albert King, John Lee Hooker and Doyle Bramhall Sr. He started playing guitar at sixteen and loves all kinds of music, but it is the American tradition of Blues that resonates most deeply. Granvil has a four piece band and plays venues and festivals in San Antonio, Austin and across the United States.
